The Brazos Chamber Orchestra, a non-profit organization, was founded in the
fall of 1998. The BCO serves the citizens of Johnson County and the Brazos
Valley Region. The orchestra is comprised of musicians from local communities
including Alvarado, Arlington, Burleson, Cleburne, Fort Worth, Granbury, Joshua
and Keene as well as students from Southwestern Adventist University and area
high schools. Its purpose is to offer opportunities for musical enjoyment and
the development of musical arts. The orchestra will elevate musical activities
and programs for the cultural and educational benefit of the public.
David R. Anavitarte serves as Conductor and Music Director of the
Brazos Chamber Orchestra. Mr. Anavitarte is Director of Choirs and Assistant
Professor of Music at Southwestern Adventist University in Keene, Texas.
