ABOUT DIGITAL VERSATILE DISCS (DVD)

The DVD provides the most versatile means available today to preserve and distribute a musical recording. Our music compilation DVD's are recorded in surround sound and encoded with Dolby Digital for playback on any DVD player. If you have a Dolby Digital decoder on either your DVD player or receiver you can enjoy Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound. If you don't yet have a decoder you can still enjoy the embedded stereo tracks. Our music compilation DVD's do not contain any video but many do have photographs behind Chapter headings.

If you provide a DVD with video for duplication our copies will, of course, include your video. Our duplication is an exact 1:1 copy of your master.

DVD's are more costly to manufacture than Compact Discs or cassettes,  particularly in low quantities. Pressing plants generally require minimum orders of 1000 DVD's. Even if a plant accepts orders for fewer than 1000 they charge additional fees so that the total cost is about the same as if ordering 1000 DVD's. Copyright fees, royalties and such, can add as much as $3.00 per disc. Contact us with your specific requirements. Allow about six weeks for the manufacturing process.

We fill 99% of our DVD orders with write-once DVD's (either DVD-R or DVD+R) which we manufacture, on demand, here. "On demand" means that you can order the exact quantity you want and receive them much more quickly. If you discover later that you don't have enough DVD's you can easily order more. There are no minimum quantities. If you need 4 more, 10 more, 25 more, we again make exactly what you need.

Allow a week for the manufacturing process. Included are a vinyl DVD case, full-color insert and shrink-wrapping. Cost is $10.50 for quantities of 1 - 250. For 250 - 500 the cost is $9.75 each. For 500 - 999 the cost is $8.75 each. For 1000+ the cost is $7.75 each.
